I started stand-up paddling in 2009 in Newport Beach with a 12’ Laird. I quickly discovered that walking 100-yards to the beach on a windy day could be quite an adventure. I began looking for a solution for transporting the board and realized there was nothing out there that worked for a 12’ SUP.
I began working with a solution-minded bike shop mechanic in Newport Beach, and we made the first few prototypes. The design has continued to morph over the years, with improvements and adjustments being made. I designed a wagon that works, and that is easy and practical for all users. My team has an attention to detail and functionality.
I use my Board Wagon several times every week on both short rides and long haul (10-miles) to the river jetty to surf. The beauty is I pass people on my bike that are circling, looking in vain for a parking place while I can pull right in and start surfing. I have the option of connecting my trailer to my electric bike for the longer hauls or just connect to my tandem for the short trips – and I never carry my board anymore.
